SHIBPUR-IDARA-ITTEHAD-UL-KHAWATEEN (SIIK) is a grass roots organisation working primarily with women
and girls in Priya-Manna Basti (slum),Howrah since 2002. Our mission is to empower women and young
people in the community through provision of sexual reproductive health (SRH) education, skills training
leading to employment and providing curricular and extracurricular education. SIIK was created and is run by
women living within the community and works towards improving the lives and livelihoods of today’s and
tomorrow’s mothers to help lift the community out of poverty.
